After several months away for the festival season creweroots is back, all showered, clean and happy to see normal toilets once again.
Next up for us at creweroots is George Borowski.
For the uninitiated out there, this is the famous ‘Guitar George’ (the very same one that Dire Straits sang about...
‘check out Guitar George, he knows all the chords’. He is the happiest, most optimistic guy we’ve ever met, he plays with the heart of a life-long rock n roller and every show is a classic. Amongst his fans he has glowing recommendations from the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Lemmy, Pixies, Ian Hunter, Doves, Sad Cafe and Meat Loaf! That range just about sums up George’s huge appeal.
‘George has an uncanny ability to straddle the divide and deliver a message to all camps’ – Terry Christian
‘It has been a privilege for me to have known and worked with George Borowski for the last ten years’ – Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub)
‘I have never seen a rock n roll performer so completely connected with what he was doing onstage’ – Frank Black (Pixies)
An interesting summary of George’s career can be found at www.georgeborowski.co.uk/index1.html but this is a night for just turning up, leaving all preconceptions at the door and witnessing a legendary performer playing his first ever show in Crewe.
The gig takes place on the 23rd of September at SquareOne.
So, that’s it for now. We’ll send more information out about the rest of the upcoming gigs (some of which you know about from the last update) in a couple of weeks.
Looking forward to seeing you all again at George’s gig.
Just wanted to say many thanks for publicising the Nibs van der Spuy concert at Nantwich Civic Hall on October 23rd.
